The NRA’s War Against Gun Safety Legislation: The Speech President Trump Must Deliver to the Nation

President Trump’s announcement on February 28th, two weeks to the day after the February 14th massacre at Marjory Stoneham High School in Parkland, Florida, that he supported comprehensive gun control legislation stunned the National Rifle Association which for decades has opposed almost every firearm safety bill. Trump’s announcement also became worrisome for Republican lawmakers, many of whom have long been willing beneficiaries of the NRA’s support.

NAN Summit 2018 highlights

The venue for this year’s National Action Network Inc NAN could not be any more familiar, Sheraton Times Square Hotel and Towers 53rd and Seventh Avenue was where big summits such as Clinton Global Initiative and Rainbow PUSH use to hold annually. While CGI is all but extinct a little over a year ago, NAN Summit taunting civil rights, equal justice and political inclusion under present dispensation becomes even more magnified.
