Resorts World New York City Commencement Ceremony for Gumbo Coalition Class of 2023.
The Gumbo Coalition University, a virtual mentorship program sponsored by Resorts World New York City, is celebrating with an in-person class and commencement for the Class of 2023 on Thursday, March 30 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York. Students will hear from Marc Morial, CEO of the National Urban League, and author of “The Gumbo Coalition,” which inspired the creation of the program, along with other guest lecturers. Robert DeSalvio, the President of Genting Americas East, will also be on hand to say a few words and take photos with the students.
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a $500 scholarship.
The Gumbo Coalition University is a 6-week mentorship program where college students learn about leadership from illustrious leaders in various fields. Lecturers of this year’s class include Queens very own Patricia Robinson of Greater Jamaica. Students who will be in attendance are from York College, Kingsborough Community College and Marist College.
