On Monday, Sept. 11 the JFK Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Port Authority of NY & NJ hosted a very moving solemn ceremony to remember and pay respect to all those who perished on September 11, 2011. The event was supported by the Queens Chamber of Commerce under Executive Director of Queens Chamber Thomas Grech
The ceremony held at JFK Airport Ball Field began at 8:00am and lasted until 10:00am.
Others who attended include Queens elected officials Congressman Gregory Meeks, New York City Councilmember Donovan Richards and Hon. David Weprin.
The program was replete with patriotism with pledge of Allegiance and singing of “God Bless America”. Bag Pipers, Clergy introductions, Reading of the names from those who died from United Airlines and American Airlines etc.
There was a ground breaking ceremony with dedication of portion of field for continuation marking the tragedy.
The When In Need (WIN) Foundation a member of JFK and Queens Chamber of Commerce was represented by Director of Media Dr. George Onuorah.
In the bulletin handed out to attendee’s contained the following prayers-
